Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years travelling alone, are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors (UM).
Conditions of acceptance
Unaccompanied Minors (UM) are considered as children above the age of 5 and below
the age of 12 years. Young passengers between the ages of 12 and below16 years travelling alone, are entitled to Unaccompanied Minor service if specifically requested by the parent or guardian.
Young Passengers between the ages of 12 and 17 years are not permitted to escort an Unaccompanied Minor. The UM form must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian for which Etihad Airways will require 5 copies with ticket.
UM’s cannot be accepted without prior notification before travel.
The parent/guardian must be present at check-in and ensure that the Unaccompanied Minor (UM) has all necessary travel documents such as valid passport, visa, and health certificate (if required). These documents must be submitted to the Etihad check-in counter together with the UM forms (5 copies) at least 2 hours prior to departure of flight.
The Unaccompanied Minor (UM) must be met on arrival at the destination by the respective parents/ guardian (noted on the UM form).
An adult fare is applied for Unaccompanied Minor (UM) tickets.
Connecting time in AUH for onward sectors shall not be more than four hours and valid
on Etihad Airways operated flights only. If Interline flights are involved, the rules of that airline must be complied with and is the responsibility of the Travel agent to make arrangements directly with the respective airline.
Seating - Unaccompanied Minors should not be booked in the emergency exits seats.
Adults and Children travelling together but seated in different cabins, the children will be treated as Unaccompanied Minors and Etihad Airways must be pre-notified accordingly.
Check-in at Abu Dhabi and Dubai city terminals is not permitted for Unaccompanied Minors
Etihad Chauffer and coach service is not permitted for Unaccompanied Minors.
UMNR transit lounge at Abu Dhabi airport is located within Terminal 3 and is available for all originating and transferring UM’s.
