Following the historic announcement on 19 December that Etihad Airways was purchasing a 29 per cent stake in airberlin, Germany’s second largest airline, the two airlines have been busy determining the best ways to create synergies for the benefit of all our Guests.

Etihad Airways and airberlin carry a combined total of more than 40 million passengers a year, operate 233 aircraft and employ 18,000 people. The deal brings to 239 the total number of destinations we serve, either directly or with partner airlines. If you’re flying into Europe, you’ll be able to seamlessly connect to 45 cities.
