Yas Marina Circuit
Innovation. Beauty. Comfort. Whether a driver, a racing team or a spectator, Yas Marina Circuit has been designed to produce an unforgettable experience, located on Yas Island, a newly developed destination featuring luxury hotels and attractions.
Yas Marina Circuit is the perfect combination of style and function. The Formula 1™ track is 5.55km long. This track can be split in to smaller tracks at 3.1km and 2.4km each which can operate simultaneously when desired.
Approximately 50,000 spectators can view the action on the circuit from the comfort of permanent, covered grandstands and VIP facilities. Yas Marina Circuit is the only motorsports venue in the world where all of the grandstands are covered.
In fact every seat on the circuit has a very special view. Spectators in the North Grandstand will enjoy an arena atmosphere at the hairpin, while those in the South Grandstand have one of the greatest panoramas in motorsport, looking out over the 500 room, 5-star The Yas Hotel , the Marina itself and the Yacht Club. The seating on top of the Support Pit Building will not only allow spectators to see the support race action up close but take in a broad sweep of the circuit including critical turns around the Marina.
Yas Island
Yas Island lies some 30 kilometres north of the city centre and has already established itself on the world stage with the inaugural Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix. The event was staged on a purpose built track that wowed the global television audience with its incredible architecture and setting.
Most impressive of all is Ferrari World, the world’s largest indoor them park with 20 ride attractions and, in keeping with its association with the pinnacle of motorsport, it will be home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster.
Also the Emirate’s first links-style course is now open, which is designed by renowned architect, Kyle Phillips while golf lovers can also take in a round at the Abu Dhabi National, which lies 15 minutes away. As you might expect, given its location, Yas Island also has much to offer those who seek their pleasures afloat, with the luxury yachts berthed in its marinas providing a stylish and glamorous backdrop to the surrounding restaurants and hotels.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi
Ferrari World is set to become one of Yas Island’s signature attractions. It is the world’s first Ferrari theme park, with its design inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body. But its appeal goes far beyond lovers of ‘the Prancing Horse’. Under its awe inspiring 200,000 m2 roof is the world’s largest indoor theme park offering a multi-sensory experience with over 20 state-of-the-art rides.
These include the world’s fastest rollercoaster, an adrenaline fuelled ride that emulates the sensation of being in a Ferrari F1 car, reaching speeds in excess of 200 kilometers per hour. There’s a G-Force experience that takes passengers on the ride of their life right up through the roof of the theme park. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi also gives you the chance to race on state of the art simulators as those used by the Ferrari racing team and enjoy a flume ride through the heart of a Ferrari 599 engine.
If you need some calm and relaxation after the high octane rides, there is a choice of eating and drinking options, including a traditional delicatessen offering pizza and pasta dishes and a restaurant inspired by the Maranello food experience. Ferrari enthusiasts can complete their visit by a look around the two spacious stores selling Ferrari merchandise and racing memorabilia. Opens to the public on October 28, 2010.
