What is Etihad BusinessConnect?
Etihad BusinessConnect is Etihad Airways’ loyalty programme designed for all businesses that do not already have a corporate agreement with Etihad.
Who can qualify to apply for Etihad BusinessConnect membership?
- Membership to join Etihad BusinessConnect is open only to registered businesses.
- The applying business should be registered in a country where Etihad BusinessConnect is available.
- The applying business should not have an existing corporate deal in place with Etihad Airways.
How can a business apply to join Etihad BusinessConnect?

- The business must complete the form online and provide all the mandatory details and verification of the legitimacy of the business.
- During registration the business will be asked to nominate one contact as the ‘Administrator’ who will be responsible for managing the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account.
How will a business know if their application to join Etihad BusinessConnect has been approved?
The Administrator will be notified via email regarding the approval along with a confirmation of how many employees can be linked to the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect Membership.
How much does Etihad BusinessConnect membership cost?
Etihad BusinessConnect Membership is absolutely free.
How many employees can an Administrator invite to join a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect Membership?Etihad BusinessConnect membership allows a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 50 employees of a business to be registered under the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect Membership.
The Administrator will be advised at the time of approval of how many employees can be invited to be linked to the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account.
In the event that a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect Membership has less than two employees linked to it’s account, Etihad Airways reserves the right to terminate the account.
What if a business’ activities grow and an Administrator needs/wants to invite more employees to join the business’ Etihad Business Connect membership?
It is the responsibility of the Administrator to inform Etihad Airways via email to businessconnect@etihad.ae when their business grows and their Etihad BusinessConnect account needs to accommodate more participants than originally allocated.
How can an Administrator invite the business’ employees to link to their Etihad BusinessConnect membership?
Once Etihad Airways approves a business’ membership of Etihad BusinessConnect, the Administrator will receive notification of the approval via email along with a unique username and password which they can forward to the maximum number of employees they are permitted to invite to join the Etihad BusinessConnect membership.
What does the employee need to do to link to their business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account?
An employee first needs to be a member of the Etihad Guest programme (enroll at www.etihadguest.com). Once he/she is an Etihad Guest member, they need to be invited by the business’ Administrator to join their Etihad BusinessConnect account, There will be a dedicated link within the Administrators email invite to complete the joining process. To do this; the employess will need both the business’ username/password and also their own Etihad Guest number and password.
How can a business update its details once enrolled?
If there is a change to the business’ contact details e.g. Telephone contact, address details or a change in the Administrators details., the Administrator should make the changes directly online at etihadguest.com
Can a business register twice for Etihad Business Connect?
No. At the time of registration, Etihad Airways will verify the business’ details to ensure that it is not already a part of the Etihad BusinessConnect programme.
If more than one Etihad BusinessConnect account number has been assigned to a business by error or oversight, the accounts will be combined and the miles transferred to one single account less any duplicated bonuses or miles from the same activity.
Do members have to reside in the country where the business is based?
No. As long as the Administrator can verify that all the members are employees of the participating business they need not live in the same country.
Can a member participate in more than one business’ Etihad BusinessConnect membership?
No. An Etihad Guest member can only elect to join any one business’ Etihad BusinessConnect membership at a time.
How does a business earn Etihad Guest Miles in the Etihad BusinessConnect programme?
- The business may earn Etihad Guest Miles from the day the Administrator registers the business and the nominated employees agree to participate in the Etihad BusinessConnect account.
- When employees travel with Etihad Airways, the business account will be credited with 30% of the miles earned by the employees in Coral Economy, and 60% of the miles earned in Diamond First and Pearl Business class . The member will continue to collect 100% of their Etihad Guest Miles.
- e.g. Abu Dhabi to London Flown Miles in Coral Economy are 3409 Etihad Guest Miles
- BusinessConnect Account is credited with 1022 Etihad Guest Miles
- Etihad Guest member will earn 3409 Etihad Guest Miles
- The business earns the 30% (Coral Economy) or 60% (Pearl Business and Diamond First) of Etihad Guest Miles on the Flown Miles and Cabin Bonus Miles that a member earns only (i.e. additional promotional miles and tier bonuses are excluded).
Will a business earn Etihad Guest Miles for any activity completed by its employees prior to their acceptance to join the business’ BusinessConnect membership?
No. The business will only earn Etihad Guest Miles for flights taken by its employees from the day they accept to be linked to the business’ Business Connect account.
How long are the Etihad Guest Miles that a business’ earns valid for?
As per the Etihad Guest programme, the miles that a business earns as part of their Etihad BusinessConnect Membership are valid for 3 years from the date they are earned.
Can a business’ earn Etihad Guest Miles for flights its employees complete on partner airlines?
No. Under the Etihad BusinessConnect programme, Etihad Guest Miles are only awarded for flights that are taken by a business’ employees on Etihad Airways.
Can a business’ earn Etihad Guest Miles for flights its employees complete on codeshare flights?
Travel taken on any Etihad Airways code share flights marketed by Etihad Airways with an Etihad Airways flight number will qualify for Etihad Guest Miles under the Etihad BusinessConnect membership. Code share flights booked on the partner airline flight number (i.e. with a non Etihad Airways code) will not qualify to earn Etihad Guest Miles.
Can a business’ earn Etihad Guest Miles on all fares?
Business’ will earn miles on their Etihad BusinessConnect account based on the qualifying fares that a member of the Etihad Guest programme earns miles for. For full details of non-qualifying fares, please refer to the Terms & Conditions of the Etihad Guest programme.
Can a business earn miles for bookings its employees make via travel agencies?
Yes. As long at the Terms & Conditions governing the Etihad Guest programme are met, members of Etihad BusinessConnect can continue to book their flights with their preferred travel agents. The travel agent must insert the individual Etihad Guest membership number into the PNR at the time of booking. Failure to do so can result in miles not being awarded both to the individual member and the Etihad BusinessConnect account.
Does a business’ earn miles automatically when its participating employees travel?
As long at the employees quote their Etihad Guest Number at the time of booking and check-in, the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account will automatically earn the `relevant miles when their employees travel.

How can an Administrator verify all the Etihad Guest Miles are credited accurately to its account?
Administrators of the Etihad BusinessConnect accounts will be issued with a user name and password at the time of registration. This user name and password will allow the Administrator to log on to the business’ account on etihadguest.com and view all their transactions. If the Administrator discovers any discrepancies, they should contact businessconnect@etihad.ae providing details of the missing transactions e.g. Etihad Guest Number, Name of Guest and travel details including the booking reference or ticket number.
Can a business’ purchase Etihad Guest Miles?
No. With the flexible Miles+Cash option and 1Mile Redemption feature of the Etihad Guest programme, Administrators of the Etihad BusinessConnect programme have the flexibility of redeeming miles for all of the Rewards available on the Reward Shop.
When an employee cancels their participation in a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account, what happens to the Etihad Guest Miles they have contributed to the Etihad BusinessConnect membership?
The Etihad Guest Miles awarded to a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account as a result of the employee’s travel remain in the business’ account.
Does a business earn Etihad Guest Miles if an employee travels on a Reward ticket redeemed using Miles+Cash?
One of the unique features of the Etihad Guest programme is that members earn miles on the cash portion of a Flight Reward. A business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account will also be awarded with miles on the miles a member earns on their individual Etihad Guest Account for the Flight Reward.
If an employee uses his miles to upgrade his travel, does the business earn Etihad Guest Miles as per the upgraded class of travel?
No. Etihad Guest Miles will be issued both to the member and the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account based on the cabin booked and not the class of travel flown.
Does a business earn miles for flights when an employee is rerouted on another airline by Etihad Airways due to disruption of its services?
Yes. Employees will need to ensure that their individual Etihad Guest Accounts are credited with the Etihad Guest Miles for the original flight they were booked for. Once the flight tracks to the employees account, the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account will automatically be credited with the Etihad Guest Miles for the flight.
How long after a employees flight will it take before the business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account is awarded with the relevant Etihad Guest Miles?
Provided the Etihad Guest member has supplied their Etihad Guest Number at the time of booking and at check-in, a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account will be credited with the relevant Etihad Guest Miles at the same time the employee is credited with their miles normally within 7 days of travel.
Where can an Administrator find out how many Etihad Guest Miles are required for a specific Reward?
The Reward Shop found on www.etihadbusinessconnect.com will have all the details on the miles or the Miles+Cash combination that is required for each Reward.
Who has the authority to redeem the Etihad Guest Miles accumulated in a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account?
Only the nominated Administrator has the authority to redeem the Etihad Guest Miles earned on a business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account using their user name and password.
How can an Administrator book Rewards using the Etihad Guest Miles earned in their business’ Etihad BusinessConnect account?
The Administrator can book Rewards by visiting www.etihadbusinessconnect.com then navigate to the ‘Reward Shop’. The Administrator has the flexibility to book Flight Rewards, as well as a variety of redemption opportunities
Can Etihad Guest Miles from two Etihad BusinessConnect accounts be combined to claim a Reward?
No. But with the flexible Miles+Cash option and 1Mile Redemption feature of the Etihad Guest programme, Administrators of the Etihad BusinessConnect programme have the flexibility of redeeming miles or Miles+Cash on all of the Rewards available on the Reward Shop.
Can Etihad Guest Miles earned by a business’ be redeemed via an Etihad Airways office or local travel agent?
No. Etihad Guest Miles can only be transacted by a business’ Administrator on www.etihadbusinessconnect.com
Can a business’ extend Etihad Guest Miles that are due to expire?
No. As per the Terms & Condition of the Etihad Guest programme, the validity of Etihad Guest Miles cannot be extended.
How does an Administrator pay for taxes and surcharges that are applicable on Flight Rewards?
The Administrator has to pay online at the time of booking.
Can Etihad Guest Miles that have been exchanged by an Administrator for a Reward be refunded?
This is dependant on the Reward booked and the refund policy associated with the Reward or partner. Please remember to check the full Terms and Condition at the time of booking.
Can one-way Flight Rewards be booked using Etihad Guest Miles through the Etihad BusinessConnect programme?
Yes. One-way Flight Rewards are supported as a feature of the Reward Shop.
What are the fare rules applicable on a Flight Reward obtained through Etihad BusinessConnect?
The fare rules are dependant on the fare booked and will be advised to the Adminstrator at the time of booking the Flight Reward.
