We want you to have a safe flight, always. As an expectant mother, here is some important information you must know when flying Etihad:
• Etihad Airways allows pregnant travellers up to end of 36 weeks for a single, uncomplicated pregnancy.
• Pregnant travellers who are expecting multiple or complicated pregnancies are allowed up to the end of 32 weeks.
• If the pregnancy is 28 weeks or more the pregnant traveller will be required to submit a Medical Certificate issued by her Physician, stating fitness for travel, weeks pregnant and estimated due date.
• Etihad Airways recommends travellers to avoid air travel up to 7 days after delivery.
• Etihad Airways advises their guests the following:
a) Wearing compression stockings and elevating feet during flight as the threat of thrombosis is increased in pregnancy.
b) Avoid lifting heavy weights during pregnancy, so particular care should be taken regarding baggage.
Medical Certificate
The doctor’s certificate required for your travel during pregnancy must:
• Be issued by your medical doctor or attending midwife.
• Be issued within 7days from departure date.
• State the expected date of delivery (EDD).
• State that the pregnancy is single or multiple.
• State that you are fit to fly for the time covering the booked flights.
• Be easily understood and written in English.
• Must include the stamp of the doctor or midwife.
