Check-in time
Current check-in opening times:
All Stations:
Check-in opens at least 3 hours before the scheduled time of departure.
At Abu Dhabi:
Check-in opens 4 hours before the scheduled time of departure.
Check-in closing times:
At Mumbai, Damascus, Jeddah, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Beijing and Toronto:
Check-in will close 60 minutes prior to departure (for all guest travel classes).
Guest traveling to and from New York:
Check-in will close 60 minutes prior to departure (for all guest travel classes).
Guests traveling to and from all other stations including Abu Dhabi:
• Check-in for our Coral Economy Class guests will close 60 minutes prior to departure.
• Check-in for our Diamond First Class and Pearl Business Class guests will close 45 minutes prior to departure.
Boarding Gate:
Guests will be required to report at the boarding gates at least 45 minutes before departure.
Please note: Aircraft doors will close 10 mins before departure.

City check-in
As a guest based in or travelling through the UAE, you have the luxury of checking in at either of our two city check-in facilities — one in downtown Abu Dhabi and the other in Dubai. With this service, we bring you a host of attractive benefits:
• It saves your time. Check in at the city terminals anytime from 24 to 4 hours prior to your flight and arrive at the airport just in time for departure as per the specified boarding time.
• It's a stress-free experience. The city check-in provides a relaxed atmosphere, far removed from the rush at the airport.
• It gives you more choice. When you check in early, you get a chance to even choose your preferred seats.
• It's ideal if you are travelling in a large group and want to avoid any last-minute stress.
Please note that the city check-in service is currently unavailable to our US-bound guests, guests with reduced mobility, Unaccompanied Minors and guests traveling on staff tickets.
Abu Dhabi City Check-in
Our city check-in facility in the UAE capital is located in the heart of Abu Dhabi — at the Abu Dhabi City Terminal — and is an easy drive from any part of the city. Open 24 hours of the day and every day of the week, the facility allows you to check in for your flight 24 to 6 hours before departure. Leave your baggage at the facility, collect your boarding pass and leave the rest to us.*
At an extra charge you may use the Terminal’s coach service to the airport as well as access to the Duty Free shop and limited food and beverage services at the City Terminal.
Etihad guests can check in FREE at the Abu Dhabi City Terminal. Check in 24 to 6 hours before departure, leave your baggage at the City Terminal and travel lighter to the airport!
Dubai City Check-in
Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, close to Etihad’s Dubai office, this facility offers free, round-the-clock check-in service: all you need to do is check in 24 to 4 hours before departure, collect your boarding pass and leave the rest to us.*
If you are a Coral Economy Guest, we take you to Abu Dhabi International Airport in one of our luxury coaches. Please make sure that you arrive at the Dubai City Check-in at least 3 ½ hours prior to departure to board the coach dedicated to your flight. Diamond First and Pearl Business Guests can avail the services of Etihad Chauffeur.

Check-in at Terminal T, Frankfurt Airport
For our guests travelling to Frankfurt Airport by train, we offer a convenient check-in service at Terminal T, which is just a hop away from the railway station. You no longer have to carry your luggage all the way to the departure area in Terminal 2. Simply check your baggage in at our convenient facility, open daily from 5 pm to 9 pm, at counter numbers 18-20 in Terminal T.
