Dear Colleagues,

As Etihad steps out of its start-up phase and expands at a rapid pace, it becomes increasingly important that our customers (Guests as well as trade) understand and relate to our brand more easily. Our Marketing team is currently exploring various approaches to make this possible.

As a first step, we have realised that we need to reassess some of the terminology adopted in our start-up phase, the most important being that related to our Guest Classes. In order to enable ease of understanding across markets and customer segments, our Guest Classes will henceforth be called ‘Guest Travel Classes’. Our Diamond First, Pearl Business and Coral Economy Classes will also be re-branded as follows:

Diamond First Class: Diamond First First class

Pearl Business Class: Pearl Business Business class

Coral Economy Class: Coral Economy Economy class

The attached document, which includes the new terminology as well as examples of usage, has been created to help all of us at Etihad familiarise ourselves with the new language we’ll use to describe our product from now on. I request you to go through the attached carefully and start using these terms in your daily communication with each other and customers.
