Next month, Etihad will have the chance to defend its position as the best airline in the Middle East at the World Travel Awards 2011, after being nominated for 10 of the trophies.

The awards, described by the Wall Street Journal as the "travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's", are voted for by customers and travel agents across 160 countries.
