The Republic of Lebanon is a small country within the Middle East region with its capital being Beirut. It has a long coastline on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and shares a long land border with its much larger neighbour Syria to the north and the east.
Lebanon is a country with a long and rich history. Roman ruins are scattered about the country and are easily accessible. Byblos, Beirut, and Sidon are among the oldest continuously populated cities in the world. There are Roman baths in Beirut, as well as the Cardio Maximus - to name a few. Byblos is also rich in Roman ruins and for a small fee you can view them. There are a lot of ancient mosques, synagogues, and churches in Lebanon.

Lebanese Heritage Museum
Lebanese Heritage Museum, Highlights Lebanon's rich history and culture. It consists of five halls and eight historical eras; First Hall: Phoenician era, Roman era, Hellenisitic era, Byzantian era. Second Hall: Islamic era. Third Hall: 19th Century Lebanon. Forth Hall: Youssef Bek Karam Hall. Fifth Hall: 20th Century Lebanon. The museum was inaugurated on September 5th, 2003 under the high patronage of his Excellency the President of the Republic General Emile Lahoud.
Lebanese Military Museum
The Lebanese Military Museum is part of the Lebanese Armed Forces and dedicated for the preservation of old Lebanese military antiques. The museum is currently located at the Ministry of National Defense, in Yarzeh. The idea of establishing a military museum dedicated to the Lebanese Army emerged during the post-independence period, after the Lebanese authorities had supported the Lebanese military units, who were formerly enlisted in the French Army.
