China is a nation in East asia and is one of the world's oldest civilisations. Known as one of the Four Asian Tigers, China is considered to be one of the major powers in the world. The country's cultural influence has extended across East Asia as a whole, including Vietnam, Korea and Japan.
Ancient China was one of the earliest areas of human civilisation, also being credited as one of the few civilisations to invent writing. Traces of people of the area can be dated back more than 2 million years ago, although actual fossil remains have been carbon dated as approximately 750,000 years old. China attractions
Great Wall of China The Great Wall of China is listed as one of the greatest wonders of the world by UNESCO in 1987. The wall is over 8,500 kilometres long and stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west of China. The wall was originally built from wood, stones and rammed earth, and was then rebuilt, a piece at a time, over the years using bricks. There are various watchtower and barrack posts along the wall to see, as well as tall signal towers used to warn garrisons of enemy movements.
The Huangguoshu waterfall The Huangguoshu waterfall is the biggest and most beautiful of the six waterfalls in China. The waterfall is situated in southwest China's Guizhou Province, on the Baishui River. The Huangguoshu waterfall has a fall of over 60 metres and stretches over 30 metres wide, although in summer this can be as much as 40 metres. China considers the waterfall to be one of its top natural tourist attractions.
