Can I travel with my pet on Etihad Airways?
We accept the carriage of pets in the cargo hold compartment of our aircraft (except the A340-500, where we do not accept pets either as cabin or checked baggage), provided all the necessary health documents and important licences have been obtained. The following pets are accepted for travel, subject to the shipment meeting all necessary requirements.
• Birds
• Cats
• Dogs (excluding any snub-nosed types)
• Falcons*
Place your pet in an IATA-approved container that has enough space for it to turn around and move freely. Containers for dogs and cats should allow for the pet to stand, comfortably lie down with paws outstretched, and turn around. The size of the container must not exceed the following measurements/dimensions:

Containers used to carry live pets must be clean, leak-proof and escape-proof, soundly constructed and in good condition.

What documents do I need if I want my pet to travel on an Etihad flight?
You will need to provide health and inoculation/ vaccination certificates as well as all declarations and permits required by regulations of the country to which the pet is to be carried.
What is Etihad’s policy on guide dogs?
Guide dogs or dogs trained to lead the visually/ hearing impaired are not accepted for carriage in our aircraft cabin. However, we do accept guide dogs as checked baggage, free of charge (except on our A340-500 aircraft).
