Do I need to buy a ticket for my infant?
Yes. The fare for infants (up to the day prior to their second  birthday) is 10 per cent of the adult fare offered by Etihad. For travel originating in the UK, the infant fare is 20 per cent of the adult fare. Infant fares from Cairo and Jeddah are calculated at 10 per cent of the applicable IATA fare for adults (and not the Etihad fare for adults). How can Etihad make my baby’s travel comfortable?
We want our young guests to have a pleasant experience when flying Etihad. So, in addition to baby-friendly hosts, we offer the following to make your baby’s journey comfortable:

• Bassinets.
• Changing facilities.
• Baby meals (to be requested at the time of reservation or 24 hours before departure).

If you wish to carry milk or food for your baby, you can have these warmed up on board. And our in-flight hosts will be happy to lend you a helping hand whenever required.

Can my child travel alone on Etihad?
We accept children between the age of 5 and 11 years (up to and including the day prior to their 12th birthday) for unaccompanied travel. All you have to do is submit a completed form (to be collected from your local Etihad office) at the time of checking in.

After check-in, your child is our responsibility. We guide them through passport control — taking care of all their travel documents — and security check right up to the departure gate, where we hand them over to one of our in-flight hosts. Upon landing, they are introduced to an Etihad ground host, who will escort them through airport immigration to arrivals and hand them over to the parent or guardian (after baggage claim and other airport formalities).

A child aged 5 to 6 years may be accepted for travel if accompanied by a relative aged 16 years or above.

You could also make a special request for your child aged 12 to 16 years to be treated as an unaccompanied minor.

Can I book my child’s unaccompanied travel online?
Due to the documentation involved, we do not offer the online booking service for booking unaccompanied travel for children.

Can I request a meal for my child?
Yes, we have a menu designed specially to pamper our child guests. You can choose either a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian meal for your child. On offer are all-time favourites such as burgers, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, French fries, chocolates, vegetable patties and vegetable nuggets. To make sure that your child has a pleasant dining experience with us, please place your child meal request at the time of booking or at least 24 hours before departure.
