| Moscow and Almaty from December |
This December, we’ll start flying to two more destinations: the Russian capital of Moscow and Almaty in Kazakhstan. Our Moscow service will start on December 1 with five non-stop flights a week from Abu Dhabi. A day later, on December 2, we’ll launch our four-times-a-week service to the Kazakh city of Almaty. | Etihad to start Melbourne flights |
Etihad Airways will launch non-stop daily services from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne, Australia, from March 2009. Melbourne, capital of the Australian state of Victoria, will be our third destination in the country, after Sydney and Brisbane. The service promises to open up excellent connections between Australia and our growing network in the Middle East, Europe and North America. | Etihad places aircraft order at Farnborough |
Etihad Airways has placed one of the largest aircraft orders in commercial aviation history at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK. The total deal for up to 205 wide-body and narrow-body planes comprises 100 firm orders, 55 options and 50 purchase rights in a combination of Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The new aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2011 and 2020 and, when delivered, will give the national airline of the UAE a fleet of more than 150 aircraft. More... |

| Chennai, Kozhikode and Minsk flights start |
August 2008 saw Etihad add three new destinations to our global network: Chennai and Kozhikode
in India, and Minsk in Belarus. Our Chennai and Kozhikode flights operate daily,
offering convenient connections
to and from several destinations
on our network, including London,
New York, Frankfurt, Muscat
and Bahrain. Our flights to Minsk, the only service from the
Gulf region to the capital of Belarus, operate
two times a
week.

| Three flights a day to London Heathrow |
Come October, Etihad will expand its flying programme to the UK, adding a third daily flight from Abu Dhabi to London’s Heathrow airport. The new service, which brings our total number of flights to Heathrow each week from 17 to 21, compliments our other UK destination, Manchester, to which we operate a daily service.

| Etihad signs codeshare with Jet Airways |
Etihad has signed a codeshare agreement with
Jet Airways, India’s largest airline. Etihad will place its two-letter
‘EY’ code on all of Jet Airways’ daily
services between Jet’s two
hub airports, New Delhi and Mumbai, and Etihad’s
own home base. In turn, Jet Airways will
place its ‘9W’ code on Etihad's daily services
to New Delhi, Mumbai,
Chennai and Kozhikode. The codeshare offers
Guests a larger network of destinations to choose from,
connecting easily between Etihad's Indian destinations and
Jet's extensive domestic network. |
